Travel agents for South Africa trip ?

Norrine at the Flight Centre in Toronto booked all our flights for our Namibian trip and did an outstanding job. We didn't pay a cent extra for guns or the three bags of humanitarian supplies.
 
Completely broke booking everything myself for my hunt in march. Booked the flight lufthansa ten months in advance cheapest ticket u can find 2500 return cowtown to joburg. Internet for guest houses as I have a week after my hunt already cut a deal for a rental car as it is cheaper also to book in advance. This trip is killing me and have not even considered my taxidermy yet. Going to run another three or four grand. Thank god I like european mounts as it is the cheapest way to go good luck and travel safe
 
Travel arrangements for my trip (leaving on MONDAY!!!) were handled by Kathi Klimes at Wild Travel. I'm flying from Toronto to Frankfurt via Lufthansa, then to Windhoek on Air Namibia. I wanted to avoid the U.S. and their TSA paranoid/schizophrenics, and also didn't want to use Jo-burg unless absolutely necessary. Kathi also handled the arrangement of a domestic Air Namibia return trip to the Caprivi Strip while I'm in Africa.

So far, so good. I'll try to remember to post how the air travel went after I get back.

It was great as we had Coenie with us from departure in Canada until we started hunting. It ensured we did not have much in the way of problems. Makes it very simple...

I can't recommend them strongly enough...
 
You don't need a travel agent for a trip like that. I've heard lots of good things about Gracy Travel out of the States. I've also heard good things abotu Kathi at Wild Travel. They both book a ton of flights to and from Canada and the US for hunters and have their ducks in a row. You can't go wrong with either of them.

I'm pretty sure that my travel for Zimbabwe in July 2010 will be booked through Gracy as they have a working relationship with Chifuti Safaris.
 
Kathi at Wild Travel can handle bookings for flights leaving Canada. Unless things have changed, I believe that Gracy will only book flights departing from a U.S. airport. I know that when I booked mine I emailed Gracy twice and never even got a reply. I only learned later that they would not have been able to help me, but a response to my communication would have been the polite thing to do.

Gracy won`t book from Canada.

If you are going to South Africa, it`s like going to Europe. If you would book flights to London and paris without an agent, they Johannesburg should`n`t be an issue. Now if you need a connector to Zambia then it might be useful*.
