Thanks everyone, I am following up on a couple leads. I appreciate everyones input. I should have made clear from the start that I was primarily interested in international travel, by air. I need a hard case and QD mounts that allow me to protect the rifle from baggage handlers, that I can detach the scope from the rifle and keep it it in separate luggage and re-attach with no loss of zero, and that the case must be inconspicuous, as compact as possible, and durable of air travel. I appreciate the suggestions for cases capable of holding many more objects, or soft cases, but that is inappropriate for air travel or illegal in many circumstances, - regs state rifle only in a hard locked case while traveling to some countries.

On one occasion, I was awaiting takeoff from Germany to SA and watched the rifle cases get lined up on the tarmac for loading into the aircraft. There must have been dozens. Those Europeans travel a lot to hunt. I could pick out my double SKB case and my friend's Pelican like they had a flashing light on them.
Most of the cases were suitcase like or maybe a musical instrument look to them. Some were in duffel bags and I can only guess they were rifles as they were lined up with the rest.
The Negrini line for example is tough. It is used by Blaser, Beretta and others for the factory cases. I have used mine with great success to overseas trips. The fellow in NY that I buy them from tells me of his annual bird hunt in South America wherein he carries his 2 expensive shotguns in a Negrini for the last many years and has had no issues.
Pelican and similar cases are heavy and large for their function. That means excess baggage charges on airplanes. Sometimes these cases do not even travel on your plane due to size restraints and they go as cargo.
I used to take my scopes off and carry them in carry on. Once I was stopped and taken aside to a separate office quite a way from the baggage area where my glass (binoculars included) were swabbed and x-rayed to see if there was anything in them. I leave it all inside my gun case now.
If my scope cannot take a few bumps, I will get a better scope.
