Travel with the Tavor

Nope. No no no no.

All the Americans I've talked to say it is verboten, because no US made parts. The ones the US is getting will be partially or mostly US made, so those will be acceptable, but even then our true blue canadian ones are not supposed to enter.

Its the same think with the MR223 and MR308 in Canada. They're german made, whil the american's have their civilian version of the 416 that is US made.

Good advice :D

There's a number on the 6NIA for the ATF. Give them a call and ask them directly. Also, don't mail in the form, fax it. They told me its much quicker this way.

Tavor Question

Thanks gents. Your comments pretty much confirm my prior "knowledge". This was the reason I didn't stretch into a Tavor when I bought my AR as I winter in the US every year and take my toys. I also wanted to buy a .22 upper for Steel Challenge stuff I shoot in Texas which is very common down there. In most matches I shoot two guns including one rimfire.

I've used the Form 6NIA drill for six years and always fax mine in. About a week later I call to confirm receipt and always get great service from the ATF ladies. My call frequently results in a return fax shortly thereafter too. :)

For those who do not have a fax machine, try what I do and use an internet service. Mine is SRFax. The cost is reasonable and I find the service useful as some agencies will not accept emails. I use a little trickery by asking a person to check on the fax for me. I usually ask their name and thank them. Simple things really help to improve service.

ah....no.... not quite. they have to be "sporting" rifle. where it is made, other than china, is not the issue. restricted or not is not an issue. usually a rifle that you cannot buy in the states is considered a "non" sporting rifle. there are some exceptions.

my Dlask rifle has no US parts, nor does my NEA or CZ858, all on my approved form6.

I was going to comment earlier but didn't. I have taken my "made-in-Germany" SIG X-five south for several years without problems. This year I listed my P-210 also made entirely in Germany and got approval for both.
