How do all of these rifles compare for accuracy ? I have a TRG 42, I am going to start reloading for it in the coming weeks. With that being said I may be interested in an0other .338 in the future and I am thinking of one of the Canadian made models. Which would be as accurate or better ? How are the triggers ? I have read the TRG trigger is hard to beat ? I was also thinking about a Tremor but am unsure which way to go. I have wanted a .50 for a while but that would mean I need a whole new reloading press and other gear.

The Timberwolf that I have is a fine rifle ( as are all the PGW rifles ) but whether it would be more or less accurate than the TRG or the Cadex will be very hard to answer even if you find someone who owns all three. IMO the TRG triggers are preferable to the single stage Trigger Tech that come with PGW Coyotes and T-Wolfs. Since all three are quality rifles with match-grade barrels I think much of the accuracy will come down to which rifle fits YOU the best and is therefore the one you will feel the best behind.

I know I'm pretty well splitting hairs here. All of them are good rifles. I do have to say though I am partial to a two stage trigger. I guess there is no option for a two stage on a Timberwolf ? Either way I would like my next rifle to be Canadian made.

Buy a 2 stage of your choice and put it in yourself....that's the option, just because you buy a stock base model system doesn't mean you can't put your own up grades on it.

I'm not spending that kind of coin on a rifle I'm going to have to pull the factory trigger from to replace. If its not an option when I buy it I am not interested.

Then order it with a 2 stage trigger, both pgw and cadex use Remington footprint triggers. If the price of changing a trigger is gonna hold you up on buying what is arguably the best built rifles in Canada you should probably just stick to what you have now.

After having fixed a few stocks on the TRG stuff i could just never bring myslef to own one with the factory stock. Very flimsy and like an aero bar and expensive as hell to replace it when it does.

LOL that's what I'm asking here do they offer a 2 stage from the factory or no ? The impression I got above was no. If not I'm not buying it ! Quite simple really. Its not a price issue its the issue of taking a new rifle apart. I wouldn't buy a new truck without a back up camera and then go install one either, that would be simply retarded in my mind ! I want a rifle from the factory with the options I want. I'm not getting into tinkering or messing with it when I get it. I buy my guns to shoot not strip apart. And for the money these guns are they should have factory options yes for extra money but options non the less.

PGW's website leaves a lot to be desired ! I have to say Cadex has them beat in website design. All the options available are on their site.

I already have the TRG. I don't know if that's a nice or not so nice thing to now know about the stock :) lol I may sell it in the future if the next .338 rifle I get shoots well..

Sounds like a custom rig is more what you are looking for, build one with everything you want on it they way you want then there is no issue of having to adapt a factory rifle that is just a base model anyway. Cost is in the same neighbourhood.

After looking at their sites I am leaning towards the Cadex. I have thought about a custom build as well but would prefer a factory rifle I figure it would be better for resale if I ever do sell it. I like the Cadex chassis, my big issue is on a gun of such price you would think one would have the option of triggers and such. (my TRG 42 was only $4400 all in new) Cadex offers lots of accessories for their chassis along with their own bi pod they announced a short while ago. Along with they have both single and two stage triggers of their own design and it looks like it will adjust down to 1.5 lbs as well. The one on my trg only goes down to 2.5 according to the manual.

Id like to have an all Canadian rifle, so I may top it with a Tangent Theta. Yes I know the price !

And yes before someone mentions it I know PGW uses Cadex chassis.

With all that said I may still consider a custom. Who in Canada beside Alberta tactical builds customs ?

Insite Arms out of Lloydminster, AB....Facebook or look on their website very reputable builders that stand behind their builds and becoming very popular for their known accuracy as well as durability on their purpose built systems, you won't be disappointed if you go that route.

I'm not sure if I am right here or not but something in the way you compose your posts herein tells me that you, Newfie_1986, are not really into getting much in the way of advice and, honestly, drawing an analogy between a trigger job on a Rem 700 footprint and installing a back-up camera system on a new pickup is, to be most charitable, a gross exaggeration of what is required.

Anyway, if custom is an idea that you are toying with, then I am going to recommend that YOU learn a lot about what YOU want before starting out as many of the questions a reputable builder will ask will require that you have a decent amount of knowledge so that you can make intelligent decisions and work collaboratively with the builder of choice. As far as a builder is concerned there are many excellent choices in Canada: Insite has already been mentioned, you mentioned ATRS, Casey at Tac Ord comes to mind and, of course, the very excellent Chou Bros to name just a few.

Incidentally, Ross at PGW is truly first-class to deal with and will likely be able to guide and advise about trigger options. Finally, I don't believe that the PGW chassis systems are made by Cadex but, on this point, I may be mistaken.

Whatever way you go I am sure you will get a good rifle as there are no bad choices listed so far.

The chassis on the 50 cal is built by Cadex....soon to change in the near future.

I have already pretty well decided on the Cadex. A poster actually pm'd me gave me some advice on where to buy. They had both a Cadex Patriot and a TRG 42. Their TRG is now sold. I got what info I wanted out of them. From what I gather the Cadex is much better than the TRG. The Cadex only lacks a little in the trigger department.

That's what I wanted someone who owned both or even maybe all 3 for a comparison. As for a trigger job I know its not much work and the back up camera is a bit of an over exaggeration in the work involved but it does in fact make my point.

Ex I drive I ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn. Its a nice truck. I got it because the Ram had the options I wanted. Lets say Ram didn't offer backup cameras. I would have then got a Chevy or Ford rather than buy a new Ram and install a back up camera.
A factory rifle in this price range should have the choice of either a 2 stage or single stage trigger.

On your note about PGW not using a Cadex chassis, they do on the LRT-3 if I recall.

Eh? Your going to eliminate either of these very fine rifles just because you can't have the factory change out a trigger for you. Or do the very easy switch yourself? I'd say give your head a shake.

Yeah if the factory isn't offering it I'm not interested !

Mods you can delete this thread it has served its purpose. Got what I wanted in a pm thanks !
