I know theres a few people on this forum with TRG's and i was just wondering if any of you spent the extra $$$ on the sako bipod of just through on a Harris bipod. Also i would really like to pics of your rigs. Thanks

Don't know if I qualify or not. I've "ordered" a TRG with the $ako bipod. If you check out the TRG owners manual it appears as though that bipod is so uniquely designed for the TRG that it should really be a standard feature rather than an option.

For the money you pay for the rifle it should be! At $750 for the bipod I'm still waiting to come across a deal somewhere.

I do have one of the older Sako bipods that resembles a Versapod on my TRG 21 so for now I use it on both of my rifles. You can put the Harris on with one of their 5A adapters and apparently they work very well also.

Here is the TRG 42 on an antelope trip with the bipod extended.
I can't say enough good thing about the Sako TRGs.

I have a versa pod on mine right now, I find it a little high, the pivot point is a little high aswell, and the knobs to tighten the bipod alwasy come loose! maybe mine is just being a beotchola, but i want to get a harris S benchrest
6-9" bipod instead. A friend of mine.. hes on this site somewhere... has sako's bipod,
its nice, just i dont like that it wont fold down, you always have to remove it instead... and then you have this giant W shaped bipod to carry around with you....
just my .0002 cents!

oh ya, a precision competator told me that the harris s bipods are good for most shooting but the versa pods have a bit of left and right "windage" pivot ontop of the usual cant pivot that makes them a bit better for precision when your not always aiming right at your target (your waiting for it to pop up somewhere over there)

???? you sure???

I don't have my rig yet so don't know for sure but the TRG manual shows pics of em folded both forward and backward!!

Pretty sure, ill double check with the guy, but when i used it on mine to try it because it was much lower than the versa pod, it did not fold. it came on and off... quite easily mind you... but thats all it did, there was a slot on the end of the stock that it slid into.

i just looked up online, it definately folds, maybe im wrong!..
either way, it was not worth 600 bucks, (id get a good old harris S:) and extra mags arent worth 300 bucks.. but the 600$ scope mounts and rings definately are worth it... same with the 250$ muzzel brake.

I'm getting about 5/8" groups at 300m with my rig which doesn't excite me too much, once I get out to 800-1000m I'll be excited to see how she shoots. Totally love the gun though, would recommend it to anyone(Bessy knows!).

The Sako Bipod does fold .. but it goes forward .. I got mine with My TRG-22 in .308 and its a good pod .. theres some issues like it flops around a bit folded.. but its below the barrel line pivot point does make for some stable shooting .. if you just dropped 3k+ on a TRG .. the extra mile isnt much ..
I got the Muzzle brake, picatinny rail and the Bipod when I boght mine.
