tri-ball shot shell

I would prefer to use a slug for deer -but some areas are ''shotguns with shot only-single projectile prohibeted''and while I have used SSG, I am interested in Dixie slugs tri-ball load,which has good reviews.However it only comes in 3 and 3 1/2 while I have a 2 3/4'' chamber.I saw someone over on Graybeard loaded 3 50.cal balls -has anyone else tried it?The accuracy is said to be good up to 40-50 yards -as well as the heavier shot has better penetration.
