I'm not frail nor timid, but my thumbs hurt.

I'm without the armorers pin tool, and for the life of me, I can't get the pin through the second side of the backstrap... With all my force, I can't get the holes to perfectly align.

Can anyone share any tips or tricks?

You're not alone. There are vids on YouTube that show ways to do it when having trouble. I must have got lucky with mine. Goes through no problem and still tight. Good luck.

The long pin should just slip right in, maybe a litlle libe to help it. If you don't have the little tool, do you have the other pin? Using the other pin as a guide from the other sid works well.

Never had an issue getting them in, start getting it in on one side and once you're almost at the other side squeeze down on the grip real hard and keep pushing, should make them align.

That or take your short pin, put it half way in on one side and put the longer one in on the other and push through and the other one will fall out, should keep it aligned.

Well....it's on there now.

It was a royal pain, with no true explanation as to why.

It was actually two other gentlemen and 15 min. of working at it that eventually persuaded it on. The general consensus was that the back strap hole did not align with the grip holes by the slightest amount.

I'll leave it on there for a few weeks, may future removal and installation will be easier as a result.

I appreciate the input from everyone above, thanks! ( and a tip of the hat to the 2 guys that got it done)
