Hello all,
Just posting a recommendation for the Triclawps tripod saddles. For anyone who doesn't want to spend $300+, just know there is another options that is just as good, if not better quality. They are also the lightest saddles going.
These are THE original tripod saddle and come in 2 configurations; The double Cam - $99.99 and the Solo - $149.99 (USD). I have both, but the Solo is definitely favoured for how fast it is.
I'm someone who doesn't have a large amount of disposable cash at the moment, so I spend more time than I should researching before each purchase. I'm really happy I came across the Triclawps. Cade (the owner) gave me a LEO discount, too. I wasn't paid or given any incentive to post this, I just feel like this is a great company that deserves a little more business than they currently have. So if you are on the search for a saddle, definitely give these a try.
Thanks for reading, and I hope this helps,
Rem
p.s. I highly recommend a SLIK DX700 to go along with these. They aren't too heavy, and can be found for a relatively modest price for how solid they are (coming from someone who has been a camera operator and seen/used some $10,000 tripods). I found mine on ebay for $60 with a basic head.
