My Dad came up for a visit, today we where out with some of his old guns testing the scopes and dusting off some of the lesser used guns of his.
Near the end of the shoot he brought out this bright yellow box of Buffalo Bore Supercharged 308 ammo.

Ive never tried it before so i dont into the box and sent a couple rounds.
that stuff is 'perky'!

a but more of a distinctive pop compared to normal hunting loads.

i like how on the box it says "only use in guns that are in good condition"

would be interesting to see how the stuff preforms in the field, anyone ever try it out hunting??

My Dad picked it up from the Calgary Gun Show last week, some fella had some sitting on a table for sale.

Peppy, but not over-the-top... I get 2700 fps with 180 AB's from a 24" barrel. I'm sure that load would do fine on whatever game you are inclined to try it on.

Keep seeing Buffalo Bore mentioned on the YouTube gun channels out of the US. They make a lot of "hot" ammo in various calibres. Interesting to see what a Canuck thinks about the stuff.

Does anyone import the stuff on any kind of regular basis?

Federal 175 Gold match avg 2692 out of my gun rated 2600, be interesting to see how close it is to 2650 out a 24" barrel.

Want more gun then step up in powder, 30-06, 308 Norma mag, 300 win, 300 rum. Or better yet go to the 33, 35, 9.3 or 375 calibers. Buffalo bore in calibers designed for the average idiot joining the army is designed to get your money. Sorry for the rant, shooting is fun. I just see so many gimmicky ammo like the zombie garbage, superformance and some types of "long range" ammo that one can load up on their own for way cheaper. Remember some fishing lures are designed to catch fish, some fishing lures are designed to catch your money.

Sometimes you already have the gun and like it and many times it is unique and not available in 30-06 or 300 win (e.g. superlight Kimbers, M14 variants, RFBs, Short lever throw takedown BLRs)...

I have managed 2900 in a couple of 30-06 rifles [24"] with 180 grain bullets. Most factory ammo does not make 2700.
even a 22" barrel with yield well over 2800 with the correct load. The 308 is factory loaded to higher pressures than
is the '06, and manages very attractive ballistics when loaded to full potential. D.

Buff bore been doin good things for 38-55 aswell for a long long time, aswell as 35 Whelen I believe... loading heavier .

good stuff if yer gun likes it by the sounds.
