Hi everyone,

What are your recommendations for a replacement trigger for a Savage 10 with bottom bolt release? Ideally I'm looking for as light as possible, as this is a bench gun only.

Thanks everyone,
Cal.

Why not just adjust your accutrigger with the supplied tool? Its rare to hear people wanting to swap out the accutrigger. The accutrigger is not only adjustble down to 1.50lb but makes it safe to do so. If you don't have a savage with an accutrigger theyes can be bought used for under $50

I have dropped the trigger down as low as it will go, and I'm sitting at around 2.75lbs. The accutrigger, while a fine trigger, isn't exactly what I would call a fine trigger. Being new to Savages I'm hoping for some guidance from the brain trust here.

Thanks,
Cal.

The "target" Accutrigger (red first stage) can be adjusted down very low. The standard trigger on all "hunting " models (silver first stage) can only be adjusted down to where your at. The only real difference is the spring. They can be found online I just can't remember where.

Good to know. That could be an easy fix until I can source a full on replacement trigger.

If you happen to come across as source for that spring...please let a brother know.

Thanks,
Cal.

I would call or email Jerry at Mystic Precision. He's a very helpful Savage expert with a lot of experience and has given me good service and advice several times in the last few years.

Most of the aftermarket triggers will work with the bottom bolt release, the bolt release is part of that stamped steel sear. It is re used on just about every savage trigger I can think of.

The bottom bolt release is really only a pain when it comes to bottom metals, I grabbed a CDI from Mystic, it came with a little aluminum tab that I added a bit of epoxy to and pressed onto the end of little arm on the sear, it works better than the factory set up did IMO.

I talked with Jerry, and he no longer has a source for the springs. Perhaps I'll try cutting a few from the old spring box down and see what it gives me. Ideally I would like a replacement trigger, but funds just got a whole lot more tight around here.

Thanks,
Cal.
