Remington 700P LTR in 308. I would like to bring the trigger weight down to either 2 or 2.5lbs. So for this I probably have to replace the factory trigger, right?
What's a good replacement readily available in Canada? And approx, the cost.

If all you want is 2-2.5lb I would say it isn't worth the money.

My trigger is very crisp at 2lb.

if you want less than that though that is where an aftermarket trigger would really be an improvement, otherwise stick to the stock trigger and take it to a gunsmith

I have done hundreds over the last 40 years.

Send me your factory 700 trigger assembly with $50 ($40 for doing it and $10 for return mail) and I will work/adjust it to a crisp 2.25 pounds or more if you want it and return it by mail. 2.25 to 3 seems very popular. Some want less and I have gone as low as 1.5 pounds but not on a hunting rifle... the trigger usually requires working on the sear surfaces to make it light and reliable. It isn't just adjusting by screws.

Timney

I just picked up an LTR and replaced the factory trigger with a crispy Timney which I bought from Jerry (Mystic Player)...then I sold the factory trigger on the EE and recovered some of the costs of the timney.
