trigger position

Hello - as the deer hunting season wound down, I started giving my x-bolt hunter a once-over before putting it away and noticed that the trigger position looks different than say, 5 years ago.

And what I mean about looking different, I mean that it appears that the trigger has slowly, almost imperceptibly moved backwards towards the trigger guard over time. There's now less than an eighth of an inch from the trigger to the guard.

Still shoots fine. In fact my last grouping on Friday was less than 2" at 300 yards. Zero creep or takeup. Clean break. About 3 lbs pressure to pull.

So...Can the relative position of the trigger be adjusted a little forward? I'd probably move it forward a sixteenth if I could...

Any experienced commentary or questions are appreciated. Thanks.

I can't say for sure without looking at the rifle, but I can say this- in the thousand or so X-Bolts I've handled while working in gun shops over the years, one thing that's always stood out to me is "holy sh!t that trigger is stupidly close to the back on the trigger guard".

There is no adjustment for what you describe... And the trigger has not changed position over the years.

And why would you want to move it 1/16th of an inch? ... it's working perfectly where it is...
