I had a trigger spring for an XD40 snap on me. I have been patiently waiting for SA to send a new spring to my smith, but I am getting a little tired. Is there a source in Canada where I can buy one?

Anyone have a spare I can buy?

Are there better third party springs for this pistol?

I really like this gun and understand that springs can be hit and miss. Judging by the XD site, this has happened for more that a few XD owners. But also happens in glocks and most other pistols.

I am waiting for 3, and just got one. SA will not sell replacement parts, you need to wait for a warranty replacement.

You must be thinking of a recoil spring xray.

I think they are looking for a trigger bar spring:

That would be when I wish I could make springs; I have no doubt I too will be facing a similar situation one day with the ol' non-glock / non-1911 pistol ;)...

the trigger spring on my XD40 has broken 3X now. The first 2X, I waited about 4 months. This time, it went away last November and still no sign of my gun coming back. I've phoned Springfeild and RNichols with no response. Out of the 3 years I've owned the gun, it's been away for repair for over 16 monthes and still counting. It's a nice gun but the service sucks.

Sorry to hear of your Springfield troubles.

I have had very good lock with XD 40 still going strong with over 3000 rounds through it. It is very unfortunate that Springfield Armory does not have a service representative in Canada and is unwilling to release replacement parts for these excellent pistols.

Have you tried writing a letter to Springfield? I have always found I get better results with an email then I do with a phone call.

Anyways good luck

I just got my gun back from RNicholes. It took 9 months this time to get a trigger spring. [ I sent it away last November]. Thats the fourth time the trigger spring has broken. The first 3 times, it took about 3-4 months to get repaired. Servise on the XDs is getting slower. I dont know if the problem is with RNicholes or Springfeild. I think being north of the border doesnt help. Thats too bad, because the XD's such a nice gun, but now I dont want to shoot it anymore because waiting that long for parts sucks. Oh well, back to the Glock.

I Just got my XD back this week. Love the gun, hate the fact that customs held a spring for 45 days for inspection. Both SA and the distributer were on the ball - Canada Customs was the delay.

I will look into buying some more springs too. Is there a SA inventory website for purchases?

The big problem is that SA does not sell parts for the guns, they only replace the broken ones eventually. I would love to be able to sit on a dozen of the springs.

I've seen the springs on more that a few occasions. It is not rocket science. Anybody who makes springs with half a wit could really clean up selling "improved springs" to retailers. The NRA gun of the year (XD40) must have some serious numbers from buyers in the US and abroad?

Sounds like a business opportunity.

3000 rounds and still going strong is nothing to be proud of, lots of people shoot that many rounds in a month. Out of curiosity what is the round count on the ones that are breaking?

3000 Rounds in a month?? Pops has 5k through his in a few years at the
rate he shoots IPSC. My fun volume is close to 4k in two years. It would
be in my opinion that 3k in one month would take your fingerprints right off! Thats 60 boxes in one month!!

this is not that hard to believe. This summer I have averaged almost 1700rds per month, and that is because I have a budget:( ; I would have shot more if my budget allowed it.
