A low safety will make it a little harder to take the bolt apart . That being said , you shouldn't have to take your bolt apart that often . If you install an after market trigger on your 96 , you will probably have to remove wood to install it . Do you want to keep the issue trigger , or are you looking for something that you can adjust ? Personally , I prefer striker locking safeties , like the flag safeties , over trigger blocking ones , and I don't mind two stage triggers . I had a 96 with a Timney side safety trigger on it , to be honest , I loved the trigger but found that the safety would disengage while being carried . It happened often enough that I just carried the rifle with an empty chamber . It may have just been the particular trigger that I had that did this , I have other Timneys that work perfectly so this isn't a general complaint against them . If your main concern is your ability to disassemble the bolt , I wouldn't worry about it . Even with a 2 position safety , it's still quite simple to take the bolt apart .
