So I'm new to chassis/custom builds, but not new at all to messin' with stuff (I'm a red seal machinist, pretty mechanically inclined. Have modified pretty much every gun I own, no bubba lol). Having an issue with the safety lever binding in the stock. When the action is out of the chassis it moves fine, but it binds when it's installed. Just wondering if this is a common problem? I'm tempted to grab a die grinder or a file and relieve the section that's causing the safety lever to bind, but figured I'd throw this out here first before I start making chips, haha.

Is there some adjustability in the chassis, or is it possible that the action isn't perfectly centered? I haven't completely torn the thing apart yet. I'll post pics later when I get home. Probably should have taken some last night.

My setup: Ultimatum Deuce, Triggertech Field, KRG Bravo.

I have no experience with the deuce but I had my triggertech safety bind on my ultimatum deadline in a Bravo. I switched it to an ACC and had no issues. Probably easiest to start grinding. Does the deuce use a trigger hanger like the deadline?

I wouldn't know, but they look identical based on my google-fu.

And while I'd like to put a better/lighter trigger in it, this is sort of a budget build. I took the barreled action/trigger on a trade, so I'll probably just rock that for a while.

I just checked and the deuce does use a trigger hanger. That is the issue I had. The trigger sits lower so it doesn't clear the chassis where the safety lever "offset" is

That makes sense. It clears fine at the top of the range, but then hangs up about mid way down. Thanks!

We have seen this issue several times. Some material from inside the stock will have to be removed where it is binding for it to operate freely. There will be a mark where it is contacting the stock so you'll know where it needs modification, and it is a very small amount that needs to be removed.

Thanks for the reply. It seemed relatively straightforward, but figured I'd look pretty stupid if there was a common solution that I hadn't thought of.
