It really depends on the scope an reticle design and if it's dual plane or not (which I think is a relatively new development). For example a weaver 1-5 cirt is decent on both counts and works well to distance. The weaver 1-7 dual plane is even better, and they don't bugger up angular measurements between reticle and turrets.

A good lower power FFP will let you make precise shots at ranges further than you may think, within the grouping ability of the rifle (these are typically on black rifles). With FFP you can also match your magnification to a good field of few for quick point blank range shots. You also wont have to adjust for subtensions in hold overs either.

The bigger issue with FFP and a real downside is the reticle is too darn small at close to intermediate ranges. When transitioning you can lose the reticle much like 'dot chasing' on a cmore or other reflex scope.

It's personal preference but I like to see my crosshairs when i am moving and shooting.

FFP is great for long range or precision rifles, but for CQB or 3 gun it is a handicap.

All good points to consider when shopping for an optic! Excellent! The comment on the dual plane reticles is on point as well, and something that may prove to be the next industry standard if they work well.

One thing is certain, competition improves the breed, and the ultimate winner is the consumer. Better products, and more choices.

Well from what I have seen, the trujicon has an issue With some turrets not locking on zero. Kinda turned me off. I also prefer capped rather than exposed turrets. Also most people say the trij is NOT daylight bright.

The only things making me lean towards the trij is slightly better price and slightly more magnification
 
I just got mine, some thoughts...
For me the reticle is daylight bright, I have the red model. It washes out in direct sunlight, but so did my red dots. It was till visible through the glare on my windshield.
The turrets are removable, and if you don't line it up when you put it back on, it might not line up with zero. After doing this a few times and seeing how it all works, I have no issue with this, its easy to line it up.
The glass is fantastic, not as good as my Preimer, but in the price category....
The only changes I would ask for to make LPVO prefection would be dual reticle and if it could could shed about 5-6oz.

Mine is on my Tavor and for what I am using it for it is far better than my red dots. A bit of practice and I am just as fast at 1X as I was with a red dot. Its a little heavier, but I am not slugging it around the desert. Its in the rack on my sxs and I still use the factory sling and I really can't complain. With this optic it is very handy set up.

Nice. What red dots are you comparing it to? You should post a pic of your Tavor.:d
