Trijicon HD™ Night Sights

Has anyone used these and care to comment? I'm thinking of getting a gen4 G17 and was going to get it with the night sights but was then thinking of getting one with the regular sites and then getting these if they were worth the extra money for the upgrade over the regular night sights.

The HD Night Sights were specifically created to address the needs of tactical shooters.

The three dot green tritium night sight set’s front sight features a taller blade and an aiming point ringed in photoluminescent paint while the rear sight is outlined in black and features a wider U-shaped notch. This unique configuration increases visibility and quickens front sight acquisition—even in transitional lighting.

Additionally, the front surface of the rear sight is steeply hooked to assist in emergency one-handed slide operation. The Hard Duty Night Sights are designed to shine—even in the most demanding conditions.

Green tritium lamps are warranted for 12 years from date of manufacture.

Trijicon Bright & Tough(TM) Night Sights are three-dot iron sights that increase night-fire shooting accuracy by as much as five times over conventional sights. Equally impressive, they do so with the same speed as instinctive shooting - and without the need for batteries. Housed in a metal body and cushioned within silicone rubber, Bright & Tough Night Sights feature a unique shock-resistant design. Each lamp is capped with a sapphire jewel to help evenly distribute the light while protecting the lamp from solvents and puncture. Contained within aluminum cylinders for additional protection, the lamps are mounted on silicone rubber cushions to withstand shock and heavy recoil. Green lamps are warranted for 12 years from the date of manufacture.

I bought the yellow HD sights for my G26 and I like them.

The rear sight ONLY has the tritium tube without any coloured rings around it, which makes it MUCH easier to pickup the front sight while shooting.

Also, the notch cut out of the rear sight is allot more generous than the regular Trijicon sights.

I'd buy them again, and prefer them over the regular night sights.

You might also like the heinie ledge straight 8 night sites if you want less distraction and faster site aquisition. Same idea of a small dot in the rear and a bigger one up front. They are the first sights that aren't fiber optic up front that I am finding easy to pick up in day or night.

Can't comment on the Trij's but the Straight Eights are very nice. Pricey too.

Thanks for the replys. Where can the HDs and/or the Heinie ledge straight 8 night sights be bought? Are they hard to replace?

I have them on a Sig P 220 .45 ACP.

They are excellent kit and served me well for several years as a LEO.
I have seen trained officers mis align the three dots in the dark and of course if the bad guy gets behind you in the dark he can locate you.

Shouldn't be an issue as a civilian tho
