Hello all,

I haven't seen any threads on the Trijicon reflex sight. I'm doing a older build and am curious about anyone's experience with them. I have a ACOG and love it but want to have something different in the collection. I was originally thinking another Aimpoint but I already have 4 of them. I keep looking at the reflex, in particular the RX01NSN. Anyone have one? I think the polarizer is cool and can be used as a occluded sight. Looking for others opinions on them. Thanks

I have one. They are great in daylight and the dot is orange coloured. I think my unit is defective as the dot disappears in darkness completely! I took it back to the store and they took out a new unit and it had the same issue. No dot in the dark. I called Trijicon and they told me it's suppose to be like that. I don't see how that is right but whatever. The polarizing filter sucks! It swivels easily and can easily be rotated while moving. I removed it after my first match using one. I think a click adjustment would be better. But yes, you can use it as an occluded sight....if it stays in position!

If you are planning on using one in daylight, there is nothing wrong with it. The dot is sharp ( mine is a 2 MOA, I think) but the sight really has nothing to offer over Aimpoints and other RDS styles, except it doesn't need batteries and is constant on.

Really? I thought they had tritium like the ACOG for low light? It would be a daylight firearm so that does not really matter. By chance do you know the model number for the 2moa?

That's the surprising thing! It has tritium but for some reason, nothing shows up at night. If your eyes get accustom to the dark and you look at it long enough, then you can see a faint dot. I'm at work now and don't have the model number here. It's not a sight I use much so I don't think about it. I can get back to you after.

The problem with tritium is most people are not aware it takes at least 3 minutes for your eyes to adjust to complete darkness.

If you just decided to go to the washroom, have the lights off and close the door, you're not going to see crap for at least 3-5 mins when your eyes are starting to adjust to the environment.

Try to wake up in the middle of the night at 3am and look at tritium, it will appear to be much brighter.

This must be the case only for the Reflex sight, right? My Trijicon tritium night sights on pistols work immediately on transitioning into a dark room.

And OP, I checked my Reflex sight. It is a 6.5 MOA sight. My mistake. Sorry. It's the 800006 RX0114 model.

I used the RX34 with the 4.5 MOA green dot on a shotgun for a while. It was on the bulky side but it worked well. I paid around $550 for it on sale, I don't think I'd pay the $750-$900 I see them listed for now. The Aimpoint would still be my choice over an RX01. As much as I like dual-illumination, a five year battery in the Aimpoint with adjustable intensity for situations like shooting from shadow to bright daylight makes it more practical.
