Hey guys~hope to be getting my .204 R rifle in by Christmas (iffy at this point) but I'm rounding-up all the goodies to reload now. I have about a year's-worth of .223 reloading under my belt, but since I only use the most primitive (but consistent) Lee gear to trim my brass http://leeprecision.com/case-conditioning-tools/case-trimming-tools/ I'm looking to upgrade to a hand-crank-style case trimmer. I'm a big fan of RCBS tools, but I'm open to Hornady/Lyman or any other brand. I WAS looking at the Hornady one this morning online and didn't see a pilot for .204 R. Does it share the same one as .223 or am I missing something?

Whatever I end-up with, I'll end-up trimming both .223 and .204 R with it. Please recommend a trimmer, the right pilots/gear to go with. Thanks!

I have the Lyman Universal Case Trimmer. Works well. I like the universal quick release system. No changing out shell holders etc.

I use the rcbs. It works. Need to change shell holders, but not a big deal. If all you reload is .223 and .204 no change required. I had to buy the .20 cal pilot separate. Did not come with

I use a layman uneversal trimmer and got the power adapter. It makes trimming so much easier and quicker. They had a .20 pilot as well. All thats needed to change calibers with this trimmer is pilots.

I have shot a lot of rounds with my 204 and the brass has not yet required any trimming. Are planning on trimming your new brass? FS

"...didn't see a pilot for .204 R..." You won't see anything for a particular cartridge in anything but dies. As mentioned, you'll need to buy a .20 calibre pilot. It's kind of an odd calibre and the manufacturers don't provide bit and pieces for odd stuff.

Thanks for all the input guys. Just found-out my local shop has a new Lyman trimmer for $106, and a new .20cal pilot en route. Think I'll grab it!

Thanks again. Now...for the rifle to show-up. :)
