trimming a sporter 223 to 20in ??

Thinkin of trimming my 223 Ruger MK11 to 20in to make it handier, compact.
How has this worked out for others?

It's a 12in twist barrel.
It will be a light varmint rifle, not too worried about a lil velocity loss. Going to shoot mostly factory 50 to 55 gr varmint ammo out of it.

You will like it with the shorter barrel... makes a nice carry... we chopped our .223 Ultra rifles to 18"... never regretted it.

A good part of the reason I picked the .223 I did, was because of the fact that it had a 20" barrel. Very handy.
