I've seen people state several times that they don't trim brass for their .45acp and 9mm's. I've never trimmed mine either, but I'[m wondering if this is really true, and if so,why?

I have been informed that straight walled pistol brass doesn't grow. My experience seems consistent with this.

Could it be because the headspace is off the mouth of the case? I dont know...

Use it long enough, it shrinks. Unless you wanted to have it all the same size for crimping, there's not any reason to trim pistol brass. Life is too short. My 45 brass are still rookies, compared to some folk around here's brass. My most loaded case is probably about 6 times loaded, there's guys using cases from the 70's. So long as you don't over bell the mouth, or over crimp, 45 brass will last until you lose it.

Straight walled pistol brass head spaces against the mouth of the casing and no expander ball is used when resizing ergo, it doesn't grow.
