Not sure where else to ask this. I'm looking for a solid tripod to mount my chronograph and kestrel anemometer to that doesn't weigh a tonne like the ones for photography in the mall. Anyone out there find an exceptional tripod for a decent price? Looking to spend $50-$100.

Thanks

I scored a carbon fibre legged one from Costco.ca a few years back. $50 if i recall. It's a little wobbly when I try to use my Hog Saddle and rifle, but cameras and my chrony work on in just fine!

Very light weight. Dolica something or other...

Go to places like Value Village where stuff is donated and then resold cheap.

Or find one cheap in an art store, pawn shop or as a last resort a photography retailer.

Make sure it has a bottom hook to weight it down. I have a relatively heavy duty tripod and that still gets blown over which is a pain. Now I always weight it down.

I just got a new to me tripod from the thrift store... Sturdy and high enough also fairly light, I've used it for my chrony a few times now and it works great... $7

Thanks for the tip about weighing it down. I can't imagine watching it go over with my chrony attached while the range is hot...
