hard to find in canada and im not sure us gov will approve a "MG" part for export these days.....

an mg34 tripod would run you about $3000.00 to 4000.00 i think he is meaning the yugo mg42/53 tripod which is about $1500.00 but I'm not sure there is an adapter for a 1919 .tripods do show up I would try CSmilitary or troll gunshows .

the mg42 anti-aircraft tall tripods are cheap in the us $99.99-199.99 depending on where you buy them there are adaptors made to fit the 1919 they need lots of weight hung on the weight chain and bag the legs so they dont move

There used to be tons of these tripods kicking around. Back in the mid 90s, when the DND recalled the guns, it left the checklist items to be disposed of by the units. I personally bought 16 of the tripods from the local scrap dealer.
All I have left now is a T&E/pintle combination.

You could try and order online from Numrich (e-gunparts.com) They have some form of liscence that allows them to ship $500 to Canada without a permit, only question is whether they will consider this item a controlled good. They have them listed for $495.
I tried to order even little parts like screws or muzzle cover for my Boys rifle, and they just don't fill the order.
Forget about all those other tripods....enything but the right one is just wrong. Mind you, the Bren tripods are tempting, since one doesn't have to lie on the ground to use it.
