Any one have experience with one?
Problems, Likes, Dislikes ect.

Yes its Turkish made and no I'm not going to shoot 10's of thousands of rounds threw it.

Just looking for a 20 semi, Rather have an 1100 or 11-87 or O/U, but nothing i want to shell out for(Pun intended 😏) in the used market.

Hahaha we'll id like to find out if they should be called auto McJam's alot.
You don't have to worry about jam's if you hit your target on the first shot.....
Who needs more than one duck anyway?
I'm sure it'll work fine. I picked up a Beretta A300 in 20g, you know, just to have one. Fits me well and the stock can be adjusted in many ways.
You have to buy it now and let us know how it works. You kind of owe it to us as a group. It`d almost be irresponsible of you not to buy it at this point.

Lol thats awesome good one 👍🏼 I'd hate to be a irresponsible gun nut. Twisting my rubber arm.
And I do need it to cycle because I'm planning on using it for skeet and 5 stand, I only shoot clay birds/ducks 🦆.

I don't have any experience with Tristar specifically, but I've shot several Turkish shotguns and my brother owns a Turkish CZ, the "Turkey Reaper". What's with these names? lol. It's probably going to be what you'd expect. Bang for the buck but not top-notch quality. It might be a little finicky and require some do-it-yourself gunsmithing to get it running smoothly, but that can be said for many budget brands. Would I buy a Turkish shotgun? No, but that is because I can usually find what I need/want in other slightly more expensive "value" brands made in the US, like Mossberg (although some of their cheaper guns are Turkish as well).

At the end of the day, I think you'll be just fine and if you're not, you'll probably end up figuring it out anyway.

Just out of curiosity, why 20 gauge for clays? I'm honestly asking. It's been a lifetime since I shot trap, but back then flats of 12 gauge were probably the cheapest option.

Ya I kinda fiqure I'll have to fool around to get to to work great, still looking for an 1100 or 1187 and I'll keep hunting until I find one at the price point I like.

This will not be my first Turkish shotgun but will be my first Turkish semi and thats more of why I was asking if anyone had experience with one.

Was going to get one no matter, I don't mind a challenge 😏

As for why the 20 gauge shooting clays. honestly I got a bunch of 20 in #9 cheap years and shoot them at skeet.

This one will be used for skeet mostly and 5
stand if it has problems.

And also I have a personal challenge to shoot trap 25 straights in the sub gauges. (Best in 20 is 24 with a winchester 370).

I bought the wife a Tristar Viper G2 20 gauge a couple of months ago, higher end model than the Raptor. It has been surprisingly good, I was expecting a bit of a break in period but this thing has cycled everything I’ve fed it. I have used it for a few rounds of Trap and it has performed very well, light, agile and it is definitely a shooter. I just picked up a Carlson “ Trap pack” of chokes for it , going to pattern it this weekend and see how it does 👍
So far I have no complaints with this Tristar.

I’ve heard some good reports on the Raptor, most say that after a break in period they function well. I put a box of #4 thru the wife’s and it was kicking shells out 10 feet lol, so I threw in some light target loads and it ate them and spit out the empties no problem. When I bought hers, I could only find a youth model in Canada so I immediately reached out to Tristar in Texas and they had a full size butt stock shipped to me the next day for around $65 USD, they were super responsive and on the ball so that was nice 👍
Hope yours functions well for you, let us know when you get a chance to run it, they have a few Raptors in 20g at my lgs so I’ve been considering one myself
