Now here's a question, Is the benelli M3 prohibited because it's a variant? If it's banned by name I would imagine the M2 and M4 would be prohib as well. Why is this the case? Might be a noob question but pretty curious why the M3 is a special case.

A lot of guns were banned by name. The M3 being one of them. They even banned the M1 except for a few exemptions.
