Trouble fitting Armalite Green Carbine hand guards on C8 upper

Hello everyone and thanks for any tips pointers directions or even some mocking if its really funny !;)
I just received 2 sets of Armalite green Carbine hand guards to go with my nice Vintage Armalite Green stock and my sweet Magpul K grip my fav regardless of Colour .
So I pulled out my trusty Brownells hand guard tool forgot I had to have upper on a lower for that unit to work correctly .
Well after some cursing scraped up delta ring and frustration I am still SOL no hand guard installed and I sold one of my black ones to a lucky member .

Has anyone else been through this ? am I just doing something wrong ? are these hand guards out of spec ?

Put two halves together off gun and see if delta ring will go on if it does it then is you maybe not aligning parts try it
 
Thanks 220 This is far from my first Rodeo however its the first time I have tried to fit Armalite on a Colt Canada upper I will try that and let you know , after years of builds and playing I have been hitting a few issues recently its very nice to have a resource of others to assist .

On thanks just was a super super tight fit my old hand guard tool has all the plastic insulation broken and falling off but it was a crazy tough fit way less wiggle room on the C8 than other Colt etc brand hand guard set ups 1 down 1 to go !

Do what I do with everything... take it to a gun smith!!! I don’t repair my car on my own so I don’t try with guns either
