I am loading some 25-06s and I am having some trouble. The necks are being crushed. I raised and lowered the decapping pin with no luck. I even put some extra lube. Any thoughts.

Just to note. I load a variety of ammo. 308, 30-06, 270, 30-30, 6.5X55. Never had this trouble other than the odd few 223s. Any thoughts.???

Crushed where? On initial insertion (being crushed by expander ball) or when the neck reaches the neck part of the die?

Either way I'd disassemble the die and have a really close look at everything. Mic the expander to make sure you have the right size and inspect the interior of the die, especially the neck, is it possible there is some debris in the die?

If you are referring to dents along the shoulder/neck line, that is caused by excessive lube. Take the die apart, Clean all the goo out of it, then reassemble. Get some graphite powder to lube the inside of the case mouth. Lube the outside of the case body sparingly.

If your shell holder is out of spec, the shoulder may be set back too far if the die is turned in to contact the shell holder when the ram is raised. If this is the case simply unscrew the die several turns, they slowly adjust the die back into the press, checking the case for excessive sizing as you go. Half a turn increments should work for you.

Lower the seating stem as far as you can (so you're not swaging the necks AND expanding them at the same time, wipe the lube off the necks, and make sure you're chamfering the cases well. For some cases I've even had to flare the mouths - but the 25-06 should be tough enough to avoid this

Thanks for the tips. I will try them. As for the crushing. It seems the neck is being pushed into the shoulder. I have had dents from too much lube and this is not that. They are used dies that I picked up off the EE, but they may need some more setting up.
