I just bought a new Sig 226 in 9mm and I have never loaded a double stack mag before as this is my first DA/SA semi-auto. I'm having a he** of a time getting the 8-9-10th rounds in and need a recommendation on the best magloader to buy to assist me as my super powers are running a bit low these days.
Thanks,
Bruised Thumb Mike

That's normal in the 10-round magazine of 226.
What you can do is leave it fully loaded with 10-rounds all the time while it is not in use, eventually, the spring will "soften", else your sore thumb will get use to loading them mags. :) It doesnt take long for the springs to get a bit "soft". You dont need a mag loader for that!!!!:D:D

Leaving a spring loaded doesn't work it any more than leaving it unloaded, cycling the spring makes it softer. Load and unload the mags thirty times and they may soften up a bit, or your hands will get stronger. In either case, you won't have any more problems. Man up and give those thumbs a workout.

if you buy mecgar mags it will solve your problem. i had the same problem and they have in fact softened a bit but the mecgar mags are still a dream in comparison.

That sounds like a good plan. I'll call Mec-Gar tomorrow and order some. Looks like they ship to Canada.
Thanks,
Mike

I'm just now trying to find the Israeli UpLULA loader. It's been reviewed well. My old, arthritic hands have trouble with even the single column mags. Bushnell is listed as the agent, but they're having trouble getting them from the U.S. (Homeland Security). If I can find them, I'll let y'all know.
