Trouble with my Tok

Had my Tokarevs to the range today, one is a Russian TT33 used, and the other is a Polish unissued TT33.

The Russian seems to work fine but the Polish one doesn't want to chamber the round properly, and I have to push the slide ahead on all but maybe two rounds per mag. Iv'e had it stripped down several times and cleaned it, even rubbing the slide with emery cloth. It has no cosmoline in it.Changing clips, and using different ammo changes nothing. Here is a picture of how far the slide will go ahead after each shot, and it tries to chamber a round.
Any help would be appreciated

Is the round coming up out of the magazine hanging up under the extractor hook?
If so, a bit of judicious polishing to the underside of the hook might solve the problem.

Take a close look at the feed ramp in the frame and the lip on the barrel to make sure they are smooth. I am having similar issues with a Norinco 213 9mm copy of the Tok, the bullet gets stuck on the feed ramp/lip and won't chamber. Some careful buffing of these areas has improved the feeding but I need to get to the range to test further as I don't have any dummy rounds to test at home.

Same thing happened to mine, except only 1 per mag on average. If I give the slide a light push with my thumb it slams in to battery fine, so it's not a huge interruption to my shooting.

I'm no expert by any means, but I figured it was the feed ramp or another part no quite worn in yet as these are unissued.
I thought about taking some 1000 grit sand paper to the feed ramp, but I want to see if it will fix it's self through shooting first.

What's your round count? I'm at maybe 120 and it started on the first mag.

Ive fired around 1oo rounds out of each of them. The cartridge goes about half way into the chamber. Would buffing the breach with a scotch pad or steel wool help?

Buy a new recoil spring, 60 years ishhhh it have, 10$ .

Wouldn't the spring be new on an unissued Tok? It seems to snap forward hard without around in the mag.

Not neccessarely, you can also try it more lubricated in the slide

My polish tok does the same thing. At first mine would hang up about as much as the OP. After shooting 250 rounds thru it, it will now go to about 1/4" out of battery. This is with 5 different mags. Ive had the gun apart and cleaned it twice now, second time i tried some grease on the slide but that didnt change anything.

Check and clean the magazine. One of the magazines that I ordered with my polish Tokarev had a rusty magazine spring.
I sanded the outside of the spring and the interior of the magazine body, and the platform.
I would suggest new magazine springs.

I stripped it down last night and buffed the chamber and feed ramp with scotch pads for about a half hour. The feed ramp felt quite rough and now it"s polished clean. When I checked the the barrel on the Ruskie compared to the Pollock, the bullet dropped into the chamber with ease on the used one compared to the unissued barrel. I don't think it is the mag as I have three of them and they all work good in the used one, but they all work the same in the unissued gun.
