I recently put a Vortex strike fire on my AR15 and zeroed it at 50y. I first almost 50 rounds at this range and it worked great. Then before I left for the day I decided to try it at 100 yards and all of the shots were from 8 to 12 inches high. I know the point of impact will change but it should not change that much. Does this mean the mount needs to be shimmed or something. I am using the included mount setup. I have sighted in a few scopes over the years but this is my first red dot sight and I don't think it should be that high at 100y. Thanks

This is not that unusual if you have an AR-15 where the scope is mounted on the carrying handle. The higher the scope is mounted over the bore, the greater the difference between the points of impact at 50 yards and 100 yards.

I will have to check when I get home but is not higher than an aimpoint or other mounted optic. It go witness with the iron sites pretty good.
