Yes it does but if you have people shooting beside you give them a heads up because it Over the top loud! Especially if you are shooting LAR mags rapidly! I got one for my other AR as well!

I don't know if it will affect performance, but you probably want to flip it around to avoid reoccurring comments to the effect of: "Dude, your crush washer is on backwards."
