I'm gonna add another AR to my collection, and have pretty much narrowed it down to these two rifles.

There's lots of info out there on the RF15, and it seems like a pretty solid buy, but info on the Troy is tougher to find.

The Troy has a 14.5" barrel, (which is what I'd prefer over the 16" on the RF15).
The Radical Arms has an ambi safety and nicer grip and stock.

Thoughts? Especially interested in hearing from owners of the Troy.

I own two Troys.

They have from what I’ve seen and held a better LPK.

LW Schneider. Marked with the SS forge mark.

Barrels are fromGreen Mountain.

Newer Troys use Ballistic Advantage barrels.

Is that recent?

Everyone Ive handled is 7075.

That's what I was told when I called shooting edge. That's consistent with their others receivers (like on the SPC, A3 and A4).

Not the end of the world with proper anodizing but I figure with the number of other reasonably priced receiver sets or rifles with 7075 you may as well start with the better materials.

S marked lower component castings come from Schmid Tool, not LW Schneider.

As I said - not the end of the world but given that the m&p is $300 -$350 less and a tougher grade of aluminum I'd rather start there. YMMV.

I just ordered a Troy Northern guard and a Troy M4A1 SOCC. Compared with the M&P going at around $700 and furniture still needs to be replaced to my taste or maybe free float the barrel. With it considered, I think the Troy's are a better value considering they are pretty much dressed already, just needing a good optic and hahaha who knows.....
