TRS-25 on an M14

I've had one mounted on top of my primary optic (Bushnell LRTSi 3-12x44) on my M14 for a couple years and have had no issues. I don't shoot that rifle much anymore though so it's only probably seen a few hundred rounds.

Lifetime warranty..... I wouldn’t hesitate. I would also not be at all surprised if the TRS didn’t last very long.....

I run Bushnell optics on all my scoped M14 pattern rifles. One has 2k+ rounds of “experience” with the M14s particular recoil impulse.

I can confirm that a Sparc, Diamondback and a Viper PST will need some TLC from the warranty dept. at Vortex after as few as 8 rounds....

I'm confused with your post. You wouldn't hesitate but you expect it to break quickly?

I've run a TRS-25 on a VZ-58 for about 400 rounds, and had zero issues. Honestly, it's pretty good for a budget red dot, and it is the same form factor as an Aimpoint Micro - which sits lower to the ground than a cow pie.

That said - a VZ-58 is a far cry from an M-14 in terms of recoil forces....and not just because of the increased energy of the 7.62X51 versus the X39.

Of the three M14's I've owned, none of them has ever broken an optic. Then again, the optics that I've put on mine were all pretty bombproof - a Bushnell 3200 10X40, a Kahles 1-4X, and an Aimpoint Comp ML2 2X.

We will see how my new M14 does with the Burris 2-7 Scout optic that is on there, but my hunch is that it will do just fine.

Well, there goes that idea. Now i have a TRS-25 and didn't get an m14 in time. Thinking now of mounting it on my Mossberg pump. If i'm shooting slugs, too much recoil? Warranty is clear, but don't need the hassle of going through that.

I had a TRS survive several hundred rounds on a Norc M14 clone, and it is still going strong now on a shotgun. Another one has been on a 12gauge semi shotgun for years and many hundreds of rounds, again with no problems. I have several of these little red dots and they are a terrific value; had a problem with one and that was on a .22! Bushnell took care of it; it was within the first year. I think the lifetime warranty is on the optics only, not the actual electronics.

I run a TRS-25 on my 870 and I love my slugs. No problems so far.
