TheGunBlog.ca — Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has a “secret plan” to order a “sweeping gun ban” from their lawful owners next month, said Tony Clement, a member of parliament from the opposition Conservative Party.

Clement spoke to TheGunBlog.ca in a telephone interview today after rising in the House of Commons to ask the government about the Liberal Party confiscation plan.

He said he obtained the information from a source unrelated to the firearm industry or any gun-rights association. Clement declined to identify the source or how they learned about the measures.

‘Sweeping Gun Ban’

“The source had very specific information that Prime Minister Trudeau wants to announce before the fall election campaign a sweeping gun ban on hitherto legal firearms,” Clement told TheGunBlog.ca.

The plan is to order the mass confiscation by Cabinet directive without a vote in parliament, Clement said.

“I find this very concerning and not democratic,” Clement said.

Trudeau’s plan is to announce the mass confiscation at a women’s conference in early June in Vancouver, where New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern will be present, Clement said.

Blair Responds

“I just want to assure this House that our government remains absolutely committed to taking all the measures that are effective in keeping Canadians safe,” Minister Bill Blair replied to Clement today in Question Period. “And as I believe every member of this House will agree, there is no greater responsibility for any order of government than the safety of their citizens and the protection of their kids. We are prepared to consider whatever measures will be effective in doing so.”

Blair is wrapping up an examination of mass confiscation aimed at lawful gun owners. All firearms are banned already for anyone without a firearm licence.

The Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Public Safety and Blair’s office didn’t respond immediately to a request by TheGunBlog.ca for comment."

Everyone who values due process, liberty, and democracy needs to take action on this. The slow creep of government authoritarianism will never stop.
 
Liberals are like a wounded animal pushed into a corner. They're desperate and have never been more dangerous. They will announce the ban at a women's conference. Everyone opposing the ban will be branded as ###ist and misogynist. It's a devious stroke of genius from a desperate, corrupt, evil and despotic government. Action is needed now more than ever.
 
Bill C-71 seem to be just a "warm up" for what their real agenda is.
I wonder what is the stance of our Armed Forces on this confiscation agenda?
How do we even resist such "beast" in making?? We tried and pushed hard on polls,
letters, emails, surveys, petitions etc, we are running out of all legal ways to fight back
as the liberals just laugh to all this and push their agenda as we had done nothing!!
 
What are the chances that they actually are not planning to secretly ban guns but rather make it seem really bad and then when it doesn’t happen we are not as concerned about Bill C 71 ? Like dad I smashed your car up and it’s written off ! What !!! kidding dad, but I did dent the bumper.

Who’s the leaker of the info ? fk c71 and the liberal party and nothing they do or don’t do will ever be for our benefit.

And this, even though I'm cynical. I already sent an email to my liberal MP. I just can't find a conservative riding to live in.
 
The funny thing about this is I just sent my MP a nice lengthy email and she is a liberal and at the start of her name it’s says “honourable” there is absolutely nothing honourable about what they are trying to do here
 
As much as I do believe that there is a hope among the socialists in this country to disarm the population under the illusion of safety (why, I have no idea: it's like they've ignored the last 150 years of history), I have serious doubts about this happening now. It's the definition of political suicide, and as much as I think they (the liberals) are out to lunch (which political entity isn't these days) they're just not that stupid to do this, now.
Everyone remembers the long gun registry, and they've pussy footed around repeating that fiasco with the complexities of C-71 to avoid obvious similarities that would raise the general public penny pinching feathers (although we all know, in the end, it's the same ####ing thing as far as gun owners go).
Can I get a fake news?
 
My main concern is Blair's response. I was the typical Liberal evasive shuck and jive. If they have no plan for this rumored ban, he could have simply said so. I think he said a lot by what he didn't say,
