For the benefit of the forum members that may wish to try F-Class shooting, I would like to point out that shooting season is upon us and each province hosts a 300M match that is sponsored by Sierra Bullets, and is called "the Sierra Match". This is a combined F-Class and TR match, and many clubs also permit shooting off the bench in a separate class.
BC is having theirs in early June and is filling fast. Alberta's is also coming up and Saskatchewan's is now full.
These matches are the PERFECT first-time match for those wishing to try this style of shooting. There are posts in the Competition forum regarding the various dates. If anyone would like to try the Kamloops/BC Sierra I would be more than willing to chat with you about what is involved, how to get started and I will be there on match day to help any new shooters with going through the process. We also have Wednesday night practices at that very range, so if anyone wanted to drop in and try this informally first, I would be more than willing to bring you in as my guest.
Please do not feel intimidated or 'afraid' of giving this a try. This style of 300M shooting is an absolute blast! We have a separate class for those who shoot 223 and 308, so if you are using a factory rifle, you still stand a good chance of doing very well in that class.
I warn you, this is highly addictive!
Kamloops is the birthplace of F-Class, a discipline that is now practiced all over the world. What a great place to start!!
