I'm looking at two Bushnell scopes 1. Bushnell E6241 Elite Rifle Scope 6-24x and 2. Bushnell E5154 Elite Rifle Scope 5-15x.

The 6-24x is about $80 more than the 5-15x. i probably won't be shooting more than 20o yards and as such i'm thinking the 5-15x will suit my needs. any input/experience with regards to these two scopes would be appreciated.

thanks

200 yards, even the 5-15 is overkill but can be useful in punching paper at 200. I have the 5-15x50 and it is a very good scope with decent field of view at close range. if 200 is max might I suggest 2.5-10 or even the 6500 series in 2.5-16. I have both of these and both are awesome but the 6500 may be a bit more versatile.

What type of shooting will you be doing? If you're punching paper, most will say that the more magnification the better. If you want to hunt with the scope as well, then the bottom-end magnification matters as well. I'd recommend the 5-15 for better versatility.

Also, don't you have a military range in your area? I went to an ORA intro day there and we shot 300m (using a fixed x10 Bushnell), but I'm sure they can go farther.
