I am looking for a optic for my S&W MP15 and wanting some help. I plan on shooting this at 100, 200, and some CQB stuff.

1)I am not even going to consider an EOTEC of any kind because the recticle is really fuzzy as well as the 1 MOA dot is very distorted because my vision (glasses)
2) I am looking at the AIMPOINT COMP ML2 w/ 3 X Mag. This is something that I am considering. I do not care about NV. By the time I get the mounts, and magnifier I am getting close or if not on par as a ACOG.
3)I am really interested in the TRIJICON ACOG but I am really having a hard time deciding what recticle I want. I am thinking 4 X mag models would work. I am kinda unsure about the availibility of these also.
4)I can get a refurb ELCAN 3.4X with the GEN 4 mount for 700 . Does not contain the tritium. I like the glass and recticle, but the mount isnt as solid as I want. But the price is alot cheaper than the ACOG. But...ugly as sin lol.

I am kinda torn and not sure what to do.

Got this on my AR and it
Got the dot zero @ 25 m & with the BDC on the ACOG 100 m to 400 m no problem. Also when shooting with both eye's open it's great!
If buget is an issue go with an bushnell holosight and a FTS 4x viewer.

Falcon 1.5-5x or DMS 1-4x?

Both good, available, reasonably inexpensive options. Of course you could just skip straight to a short-dot :)

Cheers,
Grant

The DMS 1-4x just does not seem to impress me at all. The Nightforce one that a previous poster suggested looks like a nice piece, what would the cost on something like that? $1500?

I think I am gonna go with the ACOG but I am having a hard time picking a recticle. Does anyone know who has them in stock before I start calling all over the place?

Aimpoint Micro? I have one and its nice. Or regular Aimpoint and run the magnifier when needed?

I have an IOR CQB 1x4 with illuminated recticle, im happy with the glass- only negative is that its abit heavy.
