Before S&W gave up all their grip production to Hogue, they actually made all their own revolver grips.

N frame revolver grips aka the large frame, are all their own & mostly do not fit the K & L frames.

K & L frame grips are mostly interchangable except for round butt not fitting square butt, but there are exceptions where the oversize, so-called "coke-bottle" full size grips fit both.

S&W crafted K & L frame grips of the oversize class had 3 variations. (1)Regular oversize, (2) regular oversize with a left side indentation at the cylinder and (3) regular oversize with the Safariland speed loader cutout.

All 3 versions are now prized & sought after. I have a very nice set of version 3 grips and have seen them sell on the EE for upwards of C$75-80.00 delivered, but.....it seems that these grips value have now advanced to the unheard of value of C$100.00.

Seeking all comments on what these grips are really worth.

I recently bought a model 17-3 and the seller threw in a extra set of nice looking S&W target grips. Didn’t seem to be worth much to him. I would have thought 40-50 would be reasonable. Might take a while to get $100.

I use to see scads of S-W factory grips for 20-30 few years ago, but now with guys collecting nice older smiths, I have been selling mine at 75.oo at the shows, if like new.
some people think I have lost it, but the fellow behind them usually just hand me the money, I have not tried the 100.oo I think out in the sticks where I am, that could be a bit much.
But that is for K,L frames.
N frames, I have a few asking about them, never find them, till last show, during set up I found a pair for cheap, now just have to figurer out how deep to stick the knife.
P.S. at the Regina show last winter, a fellow had a box of "new" smith grips for $75.00 each , they looked like hell, new repos. off shore? real light color and rough. I have built better ones in my sleep

N-frames are rarer and worth more. 75 for K frames would be a good sellers price.
