On the recommendation of someone from my "introduce yourself" post, I'm asking for help from the people of this forum. I inherited my grandfather's gun many years ago. I don't use the gun at all and it's basically been stored since I have owned it. I'm at a point where I can't justify keeping it vs. my current financial needs.

It is custom made from Ferlach Austria. It is an over and under, 16 gauge shot gun, .270 rifle, left handed. It has some beautiful engravings. The maker is Josef Hambrusch, and it looks like it is 22 out of 1545. The scope is a Kkahles Wein 7x.

I'm looking for help to determine it's value so I can sell it.

Hard gun to evaluate. Obviously extremely well made and high quality but very few are sold so it is hard to find values for comparable items. Also being a double gun hybrid there is a fairly limited market on this side of the pond. I would say north of $3000 but how far would depend on the buyer. Someone will be along who has bought or sold a similar gun recently.

Martini and Hagen might be a good place to call and send some photos
if they are willing?
Unique and drop dead gorgeous.

As a lefty, I would do unimaginable things to own that! You can however contact Hambrusch in Ferlach, here is his website. I'm sure he can share some information! ferlachguns.com

Ouch probably gonna regret selling that. That's heirloom material right there. Like 5440 said you won't be retiring soon, #### I'd throw you some money just so you could keep it. A beautiful inherited piece of art needs no justification. I'd sell appendages before I sold this.

My Grandfathers gun are a Rem 700 300 Wm and and EAL Lee-enfield, never to be parted out of our family, 13 grandsons, and wee all hunt!! Don't sell it!!

It is very very nice, being left handed is its only downfall. Nice that it is in an easy available calibre, nice big game calibre the 270. I think it will be somewhere in between $3K-$4K, as O/U's don't go for as much as Cape guns and SXS and Drillings.

Again restock it if your a righty, well worth keeping it in the shooting collection? Good Luck!

What a beautiful piece of family history! I truly hope you can find some way to keep it. Like many others reading and responding to your post, I think you will regret any decision to sell. Hopefully it all works out for the best, good luck and thanks for the pictures!

Thanks for all the replies. I don't know what to do now. I guess I could always sell a kidney. Joking... joking...

Tell me what you need and we could do a pawn shop sort of swing.
I loan you the moohlah and I git the gal.
If and when you need her back, well, eye guess we could diss cussz
that then.......aye?

Value? Expensive enough to require an expert to determine. Not even coming close to kidding about that. As a family heirloom...well...I'd never sell it regardless of what it's worth.
