i am making my savage 340A 30/30 into a little project. i have a beautiful piece of yew-wood that is going to be made into a custom stock and i have been looking for a new barrel. i have tried a few places in the states, but of course they are not allowed to ship barrels to Canada.
i can't seem to find anyone in Canada that has these barrels used or new. i'm replacing the old one because it's shot out. does anyone have any ideas where i can find one of these.
also on these older 340's, what kind of wrench do i need to take the barrel off. or is that a job better suited for a smith.

thanks for any help,

Barrel can be exported out of the US and into Canada. A bit of paper work and time is required.

You need to find a supplier in the US that has the barrel you and will export it. Then you need to apply in Ottawa for an import license, you forward that license to your US exporter. He then applies for an export permit and when he receives that he can then mail it to you.

This takes months. If you are lucky you might get a barrel for the same price as if you went out and bought a newer Savage 340 up here.
