So I am on the offensive of trying to get everyone I know to buy guns (particularly semi's and pistols).

So what do you guys recommend as a best reliability-accuracy-cost type of NR .308 rifle.

Must use SR/AR-10 mags , must be ambi controls , accuracy and reliability are more important than cost
May consider restricted if it's awesome. Doesn't want it overly long/heavy.

Tavor7 too inaccurate for the cost, BCL too unreliable.

As a rule, you can two of these, but not three. You could get close to all three by building your own assuming you did lots of research.
I found RDSC helpful and a good group of guys to work with and they have nice parts.
ATRS has good NR rifles, but they are not cheap.
Stag is not ambi and well you don't want BCL, so the list you will be left with is rather short.

Full discloser, I have a Travor 21 (Geissele trigger bow) and a BCL(Geissele and soon to have a IBI DMR Barrel), both that shoot really well.
The Tavor 7 (.308) is being held up by IWI USA until it shoots sub-MOA, but that could be a while before it gets into Canada.

Stag-10 or one of the NR M14 family like LRB , Rockola, Fulton and I suppose the springfield M1A or an M14medic built M14/M305.

Get a stag10 and upgrade the barrel too some better quality, and the BCG also, sorry that's only non-restricted one I can think of in 308 right now

There is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with their stock barrel and especially their BCG. It is a semi auto .308/7.62x51 BATTLE rifle...I doubt most people can out shoot the stock barrel, especially when shooting the factory or "surplus" ammo that most people do, again this is a $2000 "AR10" style rifle, not a bench rest bolt gun. Better ammo, good sights and/or a good scope and a trigger upgrade would serve better for 9/10 people.

Another big reason for people are upgrading parts on these rifles is to save weight which gets very costly quickly to save a few ounces to a pound or so...your better off losing a few pounds off your belly and jogging more if this rifle is too much to carry and get a proper, padded sling. Some guys also go to a pencil thin barrel but they heat up so quickly...why get a SEMIAUTO gun in a large caliber just to handicap it like that?!

Underfed men pretty much half our sized carried heavier and (objectionably) less effective rifles for decades in years long wars before we got spoiled with what we have today.

Another vote for XCR-M. Definitely not cheap but checks all your boxes. It’s a very solid piston gun, even has some colour options.

There's an almost new in the EE for 1800$. Keymod and light barrel. Somebody must buy it before I get a weakness!

Get a used XCR-M off the EE if it must be ambi or just learn to shoot an AR left handed. I know plenty of guys that shoot left and use a standard AR. The AR platform was actually designed to be shot from either shoulder, you just manipulate the controls differently depending which side you're on.
Stag 10 is the best bang for the buck in a new NR semi auto 308.

And what PB13 said

It was a different seller, and he pulled the add in change of mind after being away sick. Keep an eye on the ee I've seen a couple killer deals come and go quickly.
You found the wrong one, the one for $1800 replied to me last night, he's not looking for any trades so I had to pass, lol
