Shot in the dark on this one.

At the Calgary gun show this year there was a vendor back along the far wall that was selling a bunch of cool little shotguns for not too much money. They struck me as probably another Turkish manufacturer, but maybe re-branded for North America. I remember the name was an english word, like Challenger or Champion or something like that. I remember it being a C word, or maybe one of the prominent syllables started with a C. I'm probably wrong on both counts because my memory sucks but that's literally all I have.

I went to the Shooting Edge after I left the gun show (cause everybody does that) and they had them there as well. None of the searches I'm doing is finding them. Here or google or anywhere. (and shooting edge doesn't have an online store, I live out of town)

I'm looking for a cheap short pump 12ga "truck gun". Something like those 13" bulldog shotguns that Corwin Arms sells, or a 12.5 Grizzly. And I remember being impressed by these other guns but I can't remember what the hell they're called. Anybody have even the slightest clue what I'm looking for? I'll probably settle for the bulldog or something, but if I can find these other shotguns at least I'll have more options before I make my decision.

TIA

EDIT: For crying out loud. I think I just figured it out about 5 seconds after posting this. It's Churchill.. I think. Their website (akkar?) says that their churchill models are only O/U and SxS, But Reliable Gun sells a "Churchill synthetic pump" .. I wonder if there are more models of that particular firearm than the 2 they have for sale...

This must be what I'm remembering right?

Yes, Churchill is a Turkish brand who mainly made SXS guns, but have now been offering tactical style SBS's. If your going that route, I suggest looking at Hatsan instead as the quality control is consistent and they have demonstrated reliability over the past 5 years in Canada.

What would you pay for a Hatsan?

The local shop has an Escort Marine SBS (12" maybe?) on the wall for 550. He said he might give me a deal on it since business is so slow right now he's okay losing his shirt over a sale or two (his words lol)

I saw those at Westrifle, these are all what I'm interested in. I do like this one though, and it's cheaper. But there aren't many reviews on it. Or youtube videos. I saw one guy write a review saying it would be his "One gun" for this bugout bag. Don't know that I'd think the same way. Anybody had experience with these yet? I bought an outlaw style "sinsinati" from them at the gun show and it was pretty good.

Oops. I was just going by the banners at the top.

I really like the walnut version of that one. Great. More options.

Thank you guys for all your help. The intended purpose of this thread was to get an answer and I got more than that so I think we can let it lie now. I could keep derailing my own thread, but there are plenty of SBS discussions going on.

Thanks again.
