Is the Canuck FD12 and Hunt Group FD12 the same gun? If so why the big price difference? Charles Daly N4S G2, Canuck Spectre 12 and LA-K12 PUMA. What are the pros and cons of them? I have always owned traditional shotguns but I want to get into the shotgun bullpup market.

The original FD12 Hunt Group imports have fake keymod uppers and an aluminium lower, and were around 1000-1200 depending on finish and retailer. Later imports are polymer lower.

All the Turkish guns are somewhat the same. They work with the common Turkish shotgun mags, including pump action ones. The Puma is Chinese and has its own mag format.

The Canuck is just rebranding, same goes for the Charles Daly that is a rebranded Ranger Silah.

I would say if it isn't the version with the aluminum lower it's not worth the extra cost.

There is a similar thread here:

would you guys say its worth it to invest the 3 extra bill for a hunt group vs the cannuck fd12?

Yea get the all aluminum, I have the polymer one and it looks like there is fitment issues with the the polymer lower. The link provided by Rommel seems to have the all aluminum for the same price as the polymer one. Even if was not I would pay the extra and get the all aluminum. Also the polymer ones come with investor chokes as opposed to mobile.

It seems as though the issues came up because the FD12 was originally intended to have the aluminum lower.

Welp G4C sent me an FD12 with an aluminum upper and a poly lower. From what I can seem it all seems to be put together fairly well. The rear pin is in there I don't see any problems. Maybe I lucked out or there was a rework. Looks good.

Glad to hear that, did you disassemble and re assemble yet?

ah hah... couldn't. Got as far as the rear mallet pin and it wouldn't budge. I pounded on it as hard as I dared but it wouldn't budge. I guess that's the fitment issues everyone was talking about.

:edit: reassembled it. Charges well. haven't taken her to the range but I think it should operate fine.

They might be captive pins that drift one direction only. If you have a drift punch just work it with a ball-peen if you got one.

Judging by web images for the polymer version, it seems there are only 2 pins to release the lower from the upper.

This would definitely drive me nuts !
