TSS shot in Canada?

Will Bilozir has 18g/cc Sphero Tungsten shot on his website.
Sporteque in Quebec is the other Ballistic Products dealer in Canada.

Ya but that stuff is melted soda cans LOL
China is the world's largest producer of Tungsten by a huge margin. I suspect that all or nearly all tungsten shot comes from China. They can control the world market by how much Tungsten they release.

It was just a joke :)

It was not mined in the United States until 1996, and China, Russia, and Portugal are the largest producers of this rare metal.

Thanks everyone!

I found a supplier in the States and who ships to Canada .... and was about to order a couple of pounds of TSS shot from them ...

But then ... last minute .... I saw that Sporteque just got a larger shipment in from Ballistic Products .... including TSS shot.

TSS shot ordered and on it's way .....

thanks for the heads-up

When is it going to stop
I found when I bought it last there and it was 16 months ago
Looking at what just came in
Same price great but now in a 2 pound package vs 2 1/2 pounds before
I guess covid to blame NOT
So now even more expensive to reload the 28ga for waterfowl :(
Also see it is now no.7 and they don't have the no.9 in canada. :( I am not sure if that new no.9 they show is the same or not looks like a home grown BP product
Have to look deeper into it
Cheers

Hi there,

I am looking for some TSS 18 g/cc shot and on several forums your name was mentioned.

1.) Would you have a price list and a list of shot sizes that you have available right now?

2.) Also, I am in Canada, and I am wondering if you ship to Canada?

Appreciate your help ....
Thanks,
Faustus

Faustus, good to hear from you. Yes, on both questions.

I sell the shot and provide the needed lab tested load data to those who are getting their shot from me. I began pioneering this shot for turkeys 16 years ago and have helped over 6000 get started loading it. My work is widely imitated now.

Here's the general rundown on getting started:

It's easy to get started with loading your own TSS shotgun shells, if you have good load data to start with. Since I give that to whoever is getting their shot from me, you get the best shell right from the first one. It's easy to do. All I ask is to keep the load data confidential.

As for equipment, you'll need scales to weigh the shot and powder, a crimp die to roll crimp the shells (attaches to a power drill), and something like a hull vise to hold the shells while you roll crimp them. All that can be found here for around $100 investment:

https://www.precisionreloading.com/cart ... =MM&i=RC12

https://www.precisionreloading.com/cart ... M&i=RCJB12

All of the components can be bought at either Ballistics Products or Precision Reloading, and I spell that out for you with the load recipes.

The shot is currently $43/lb plus shipping. I typically carry sizes ranging from 12s to T, and sometimes larger. For turkeys, I don't recommend anything larger than 7-1/2s unless you're going to duplex them with smaller shot. For small ducks in light loads, 10, 9-1/2 and 9. For big ducks, 9, 8-1/2 and 8 are most popular. For duck/goose combo loads, 8 and 7-1/2 For big geese, 7 and 6, with an occasional 5 or 4 for extra long ranges. For coyotes, 4, 3, 2, and 1 are most popular. For deer and hogs, 1, BB, and T. The approx. pellet count per ounce is 12-1458, 10-500, 9-1/2-415, 9-360, 8-1/2 – 295, 8-256, 7-1/2 – 215, 7 -190, etc.

Timing for availability gets tricky from January through May, as it goes fast, and it's often bought up before it arrives from the factory. I have to treat it first come first serve based on payment received.

Here is the delivered (US locations) pricing:

For Canada, give me the ship to address and I can give the extra shipping cost. But that will probably be another $30-$40 depending on destination:

For 9s and larger:

1 lbs $52
2 lbs $99
3 lbs $143
4 lbs $189
5 lbs $233
6 lbs $279
7 lbs $323
8 lbs $369
9 lbs $413
10 lbs $460
15 lbs $684
20 lbs $899

For 9-1/2s and smaller:

1 lbs $57.00
2 lbs $109.00
3 lbs $160.00
4 lbs $210.00
5 lbs $260.00
6 lbs $310.00
7 lbs $360.00
8 lbs $410.00
9 lbs $462.00
10 lbs $511.00
15 lbs $762.00

Due to shortages of certain components, I have some availability of certain wads such as the CLBC, TUWSBL24, TUWSBL28, TUPRW12, MG42, 28 ga SGII. $12/100 plus shipping. Please enquire if you need some.

Thanks for the info but I am good right now. Not something I have used a lot of or plan to. Way too expensive
It was new and I had to try it in the 28ga
Plus I am lucky to still have two brothers state side one of which hopefully will come up this summer again if I need more
take care

OK - Roughly 100 CAD per pound delivered. So 4$ a round plus special hulls, wads, roll crimper etc. Most of us just buy expensive shotguns and are satisfied.:)
