Hi. A few weeks ago at the range I had the opportunity to fire a TT 33. I liked it. It seems to be a very well made pistol.

I was wondering how available the ammo is for it. Is there a lot of surplus ammo out ther, or will it dry up in a few years? I like shooting the sks because it is cheap and there is lots of ammo. How about for this pistol?

They are a fantastic pistol to shoot.
Also they are dead easy to clean and fix.
Mine came with a hammer that the full #### notch was badly worn on the hammer. When I got the "new" hammer it took me 5 minutes to change it because the whole hammer group just pulls out you pop out the sear pop out the old hammer stick in the new one put sear back in and throw the pistol back together.
As far as ammo there was a couple months where it was scarce but it seems fairly plentiful again.

I'm not a big fan of the TT-33, but I like the 7.62x25, as others have stated corrosive surplus is widely available, as is non-corrosive commercial, I see CanadaAmmo has non-corrosive Norinco ammo available now as well.

I've had about 4-5 of the 9mm Tokaregypts ( NC 201's ?) and we upgraded them all to 7.62 x 25 bbls & mags.
The ejection ports were a tad short to eject a loaded rd and the 7.62 beat the snot out of the bbl bushings ( 3rd one in my remaining personal gun).

But given the choice to carry one into battle...I'd take the 7.62. It makes the 9mm Luger look down and kick one foot in the dust while mumbling "...I can try harder..."
I'll get flamed on this but I still think the ammo we get is designed for subguns ( if not explain the 8 rd stripper clips; it's not a Steyr-Hahn...what are the stripper clips to fit?), it's really hot! I've had folks with Glocks wander down and ask what I was shooting & could they try it.

With copper washed surplus stuff going for 22 cents per round (plus shipping?) and non corrosive Norincos and some others going for 32 cents per round local pickups, maybe it is time to switch to non corrosive. Not that I mind the stink of G96!

I had my thrills with them, but have not shot them in ages. They are a bit nasty

Going to list them on the EE when I can be arsed to
I'll lose money on the guns but looks like I can make a bit on the ammo... I sure wouldn't buy a tok with the current prices for ammo. There are better guns to shoot that make as much boom
