Thought I'd share what I figured out for TT-33 mag pouches as all of the plastic mag holders I've tried don't accept a tok mag, single stack 1911 mag holders are just a hair to small and the plastic has no give to stretch the little needed. I just picked up 4 extra mags and wanted mag holders for the range.

Low and behold in the clearance section I found these leather double 1911 Safariland duty pouches, not only do they fit perfectly and have a retention screw but I can wear them horizontally or vertically depending on where on my belt I put them. Super happy, just have to find a left hand holster for the old TT-33 and I'm laughing. If I don't want the snap flap I'll just cut the leather flap off and run an open pouch, although the flap tucks back between my belt and pants tightly so I can have both easily.

very good to know, much slicker than the kludged up improvisation I have been using.

If you're looking for just a small single pouch DeSantis makes a small fbi style single that works great, I was going to buy two of those but I went back to the rack wall and found these. The price for the two discounted duty pouches was the same as one single DeSantis, the DeSantis ones were nice though. One had the retention screw, all leather as well.

the desantis pouch looks pretty nice, I'm after holding five or six magazines at once though, so I am running big pouches, maybeso I will dig out my camera and show mine later. If I only needed to carry one or two extra magazines I would go for the desantis or safariland pouches because they seem to be a really nice fit for the Tokarev magazines and pretty slim and snag-free to wear.

Yeah, if I wanted to hold more than four mags I'd make myself some out of leather. I they might not look as nice as the ones I picked up but they'd be easy to make. Post some pics of your set up if you can.

I guess "Kludged up" was an exaggeration, the middle pair of pouches were meant for longer doublestack magazines, so I had to build up the bottom of the pouch with some scrap foam so they don't fall in too deep, and they are kind of loose in there. I like the security of the first pair of pouches with the velcro retention, the snap retention of the last one is okay, but slower to re-secure.
I had bought a grab-bag of miscellaneous gear and cobbled this together from it. the holster was designed for a Beretta but has been modified a bit.

Right on, that looks like it works nicely.

I've got a left handed kydex owb holster for my TT-33 coming in the mail, once it's here I'll be all set I think. Gotta love eBay, $17 Canadian lol

nice price! between the kydex holster and the safariland magazine pouches, you will have a pretty nice rig. are you going to be using it in IDPA or some other kind of action shooting? And are you shooting in Saskatchewan? if so, maybe I will see you around sometime.

I'm not sure yet, I'd like to get into some sort of shooting discipline but I'm not sure which yet. 3 gun seems to interest me the most lately but I need to pick up a carbine, I'd like to pop in on one or two of the sub club nights at my range and see which I'd like to peruse. Something of a practical shooting nature appeals to me, or tactical.

As of now I'm staying close to home, got something's in the works that will cut my travel funds potentially. In a good way though :)
