TT33 Extractor Fell Out

We were at the range yesterday and the extractor on my Tokarev just fell out.
The weird thing was it wasn't broken. I took it home took the retention pin out and popped it back in.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Is the pin supposed to be stuck in there tight enough to need to be tapped out or is it like all the other pins on it that it is just held in by the tension on the extractor spring?

Retention pin not suppose to walk out of its hole.

That's what I think must have happened. I think it just worked its way up enough for the extractor to pop out and then once the tension was off it slid back into place.
