Anyone had success with Lyman cast bullets and tumble lubes? I know the tumble method works well with the Lee cast bullets but the Lyman has quite the different lube grooves and do they have to be full or will a tumble be enough. I've used lubers in the past and found them to be a pain in the ass. I'm lead to believe that all the grooves have to be full ??? I'm shooting wheel weights so I'm wondering if the inconsistant antimonies in the weights could be detrimental to the barrel if the Lyman grooves are not full. If this is the case is there a better way to lube these bullets without buying a damn luber and putting up with the mess.:D

I have been tumble lubing everything(9mm, 40S&W, 45acp, 455, 30/30, 50/70, lee, RCBS, Lyman ) for years, not one of my guns have complained yet:) Yeah, sometimes the bullets don't look so pretty, or the lube sometimes gums up the seating die, but they all shoot fine with little to no leading.

A friend of mine has been shooting traditional lube groove bullets (.45/70) that have been tumble lubed with Lee Alox and says he has no problems. I am about to do the same and will let you know how it works. I have had great success with Lee Tumble Lube bullets in Alox for pistol. You can always youtube the "pan lubing" videos, I'm also thinking of trying that
