Looking for a tumbler to remove the sprue left over from casting round balls. I'm looking for something tiny and basic but all the ones I've found online seem to be $200 or more. Clearly my google-fu is failing me. I don't expect to use this very often which is why I'm looking for something low end and compact.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Put then in a metal box, close lid and lock shut. Put into trunk/backseat floor/box and drive around. Check every now and then to see if their round enough

If you have a media separator, I would try tumbling the lead balls in there. Probably not too hard or $$$to cobble together either. I would just use a plastic pail.

I would put them in burlap or canvas bag maybe with a dusting of graphite.

There are some small rock polishing tumblers out there that might serve your purpose.
Some molds such as Lee leave very little sprue. Just a bit of a flat spot.

If it's for rifled muzzle loader I just load sprue up and give it a whack with the loading rod (steel range rod).
If you are casting for buck shot I see how you might want to reduce the sprue.

be aware that some of these processes will produce a very fine lead dust. inhaling this dust is no joke, the lead will enter the bloodstream. ignore the sprue cut and load the balls as they are, the sprue cut doesn't hurt anything.
