I have a Lortone 45c rotary rock tumbler and I'm thinking that this would work well for tumbling brass. I just need a bit of help on what to use re a liquid (?) for this process. A search brought up Nu-Finish. Is this stuff OK or is there something else that others use that would work better?

Thankin' ya

I'm not familiar with your tumbler but if it works well as a rock tumbler it should be okay for brass. I have an RCBS Sidewinder that can use either a dry media like crushed walnut shells or can also handle a liquid chemical solution. For the most part I just use the dry walnut shell media but if the cleaning polishing job is a little tougher, I'll add a couple of tablespoons of Brasso. For the really corroded stuff, if it's just a few bad cases, I'll clean them individually using Brasso before tumbling a batch. The last thing is I tumble in a mixture of walnut shell media with polish added.

Tumbling media

I bought my crushed walnut at a pet supply store....twice as much for half the price than the gun stores....it's called 'reptile bedding'....add a cap of nu-finish polish and yer good to go
